Nephrotic syndrome is a condition where the kidneys leak a large amount of protein into the urine, causing swelling and other changes.
The main signs are heavy protein in the urine (often foamy urine), swelling around the eyes and legs, and low blood protein.
Treatment targets the underlying cause, often with medicines to reduce protein leak and control swelling and blood pressure.
